"Do one thing every day that scares you"

– Eleanor Roosevelt

Since even before going to FIU, I have taken on challenge after challenge. I came in with ~81 credits from dual-enrollment and AP courses and decided to embark on my goal to attain 2 degrees with 3 majors, 2 minors, and 4 certificates. As a student of History, Latin American and Carribean Studies, and Women and Gender Studies, I have learned to identify reoccurring problems and find out their root cause. Through my on-campus involvements from Alternative Breaks to my Women's Center Internship to being an LGBTQIA+ Student Ambassador to working in the Registered Student Organizations (RSO) Council, I have learned how to effectively give back, advocate, and fight for the people and causes that I believe in. Through my work with international students and my Study Abroad experience, I have learned to interact with all kinds of people and appreciate a variety of cultures. Being a Global Learner is not just about the classroom, it is about transforming each experience into something greater and using them as tools to change the world around you. That is my Global Learning experience.
